2005 Tony Stewart Brickyard 400 Winning Crew Members Ring
Stunning 2005 Brickyard 400 winner's ring presented to a member of Tony Stewart’s Joe Gibbs Racing pit crew after they had helped ‘Smoke’ Stewart take the first of his two Brickyard 400 victories. The 12th running of the prestigious NASCAR Nextel Cup Series event held at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway saw Stewart take his first lead of the race passing Brian Vickers with sixty laps remaining. Nearest rival Kasey Kahne then made a pass on Stewart for the lead with just fifty miles of the four hundred left. Jimmie Johnson blew a tire and hit a wall bringing out the last of the nine caution flags in the race. The restart on lap 150 saw Stewart take advantage and regain the lead. Kahne tried to keep pace with Stewart's #20 Home Depot sponsored Chevy, but Stewart stretched out a lead to take the chequered flag and win by five car-lengths. In a stellar year for Stewart and his Joe Gibbs Racing team they would have four more race victories through the season and also win the 2005 Sprint Cup title.
These rare rings are only presented to the winning crew members by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and are far rarer than team championship rings. Cast in 10 karat gold its face features fourteen inlaid Cubic Zirconia stones that surround a central orange stone that has the Indianapolis Motor Speedway winged wheel to its middle. Each shank has a recess and within it are Tony Stewart’s signature and ‘Brickyard 400 2005’ on the right side, and crew members name*, team sponsor ‘Home Depot’ logo and Joe Gibbs Racing logo on the left.
The ring is in excellent condition and comes with a full Certificate Of Authenticity.
